Privacy Policy — Android apps
Last updated: 27 September 2026 Applies to: all Android apps published by Levi on HUAWEI AppGallery Contact: [email protected]
The short version
These apps do not collect personal data. There is no account to create, no analytics service, no advertising network, and no server of mine that your device talks to.
I cannot see your files, photos, recordings, location or notes — not because I promise not to look, but because the apps never send them anywhere. Nine of the ten do not even hold the Android internet permission, so the operating system refuses them a network connection.
Who is responsible
These apps are published by an individual developer, Pham Nguyen Tan Phuc, trading as Levi. Contact: [email protected].
What each app can access
Android permissions are the honest measure of what an app can reach, and you can check this list yourself on each app's AppGallery page. An app cannot use a permission it does not declare. This is the complete list.
| App | Permissions declared | Internet access |
|---|---|---|
| Private Photo Vault Calculator | None | No |
| Offline Expense Tracker | None | No |
| Arabic & Turkish Alphabet for Kids | None | No |
| Offline Camera Translator | Camera | No |
| Document Scanner & OCR | Camera | No |
| QR & Business Card Scanner | Camera, read contacts, write contacts | No |
| Voice Recorder & Transcription | Microphone, foreground service, notifications | No |
| Media Player with Subtitles | Foreground service, notifications, wake lock | No |
| Prayer Times & Qibla | Location (approximate and precise) | No |
| Offline Maps & Navigation | Location, foreground service, notifications, network state, internet | Yes — only to download map regions you choose |
What the permissions are used for
- Camera — to read the page, sign or code in front of the lens. Frames are processed on the device and are not stored unless you save the result yourself.
- Contacts — only in the card scanner, and only at the moment you press save, so that a scanned card becomes a contact. The app does not read your contact list for any other purpose.
- Microphone — only while a recording is running, which the app shows in the notification area for its entire duration.
- Location — to compute the direction of prayer and prayer times, and to show your position on an offline map. Coordinates are used on the device and are not transmitted. You can enter a location by hand instead.
- Notifications and foreground service — to keep a recording or playback running while you use another app, and to let you stop it.
- Internet — only in the maps app, only to fetch a map region you explicitly ask it to download.
Where your data lives
- In the app's private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read.
- Or in a file you deliberately exported to a folder you picked.
- Nowhere else. No cloud backup, no sync, no account.
In the photo vault, imported photos are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key held in the Android Keystore, and the file index is encrypted as well. Erasing the vault destroys that key, which makes the encrypted files permanently unreadable — including by me.
Uninstalling an app removes its private storage. Files you exported yourself are yours and stay where you put them.
What I do not do
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage statistics.
- No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no tracking.
- No third-party SDK that collects data.
- No selling or sharing of personal data, because none is collected.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making.
Children
The alphabet app is made for children and is the strictest of the set: no permissions, no network access, no outbound links, no purchases, and nothing that identifies a child. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR give you the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data. Those rights are addressed to whoever holds that data. I hold none of it, so there is nothing for me to hand over or erase. Your data is on your device and under your control: every app that stores anything also lets you export it as a plain file and delete it, and uninstalling removes the rest.
Distribution platform
The apps are distributed through HUAWEI AppGallery. The download, the install and any payment happen on Huawei's platform under Huawei's own privacy policy, which I do not control. This policy covers only what the apps themselves do once installed.
Changes
If an app ever begins collecting something, this page will say so before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. An app's permission list on its AppGallery page is a check you can run yourself at any time.
